Indicator
An Indicator is a specific, measurable, developmental dimension within a Desired Result. For example, the first Desired Result (DR 1), children are personally and socially competent, is divided into four Indicators: self-concept, social and interpersonal skills, self-regulation and language. The four Desired Results are divided into a total of ten Indicators. There are four Indicators for each of DR 1 and DR 2, and one Indicator for each of DR 3 and DR 4.
Each Indicator is further divided into a number of Measures, which serve as the individual assessment items. The DRDP access includes a total of 48 Measures. Each Measure includes descriptions of child behavior arranged from early developing to later developing along a continuum of typical child development. The assessor compares the child’s currently observed behavior to this sequence of behaviors to determine a rating for the Measure.
