1. Updated DRDP Information Page/Rating Record Required for the Spring 2010 Reporting Period
The Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) Information Page has been modified to collect information about a child's ethnicity and race for preschool special education. The Rating Record remains the same. This change is effective for the spring 2010 Data Reporting Period.
Details are specified in the “Guide to SEDRS New Ethnicity-Race Fields (April 2010)”, available at:
http://draccess.org/reporting/
Assessors may download the required revised version of the Information Page/Rating Record, (including the additional ethnicity/race fields) for both the PS DRDP-R and the DRDP access, at:

Data personnel who are using the Bulk Upload feature in SEDRS may download the new SEDRS Specifications documents at:

2. DRDP Instruments Used for Preschool Special Education
The Child Development Division (CDD) has announced a change in the use of the DRDP instruments for CDD-funded programs: Beginning July 1, 2010, the DRDP © (2010) will be required for CDD-funded child development programs.
The DRDP Preschool © (2010) will NOT be used for preschool special education. Special educators will continue to follow the official policy announced by the California Department of Education, Special Education Division (SED), effective September 1, 2009:
Beginning September 1, 2009 all new preschool-age children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) will be assessed using only the Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP) access. This change does not affect preschool-age children with IEPs who were assessed prior to September 1, 2009; these children will continue to be assessed with the same instrument that was previously used, whether the DRDP access or the DRDP-R.
